Holiday Season

We had two Thanksgivings this year. We went to my sisters for the day of (of course the menfolk had to play Axis and Allies while the ladies played other games), then we all drove down to Portland for a Davis family Thanksgiving. It has been a long time since we've seen everyone.

My dad came a week later for my nephews Adam and Jared's ordinations. Most of us went down to the temple afterward for baptisms. Q and I walked around the grounds and enjoyed the ambiance.

I got called back into the Primary Secretary position in Camano Isl ward. It's great that I already know how to do most of the stuff, however this ward has a blooming Sr Primary which Davis didn't AND it's the new year which means loads of prep work. Things should start slowing down next month. :)

Ian and I spoke in our ward a couple weeks ago on the Atonement. I really enjoyed the prompting to renew my knowledge of that most important subject.

At last check Q was 25 lbs and 31 inches long. He cut his sixth tooth the week before Christmas, so no need to want his 2 front teeth for Christmas. He cruises the furniture, but has yet to get into the crawling mode. He grows stronger every day, though. He knows how to shake his head and is working on nodding, too. He's starting to learn to wave goodbye. He's been developing his fine motor skills a lot lately. He loves catching the cats tails and pulling really hard. He thinks it's hilarious when they hiss and growl at him. He loves dogs barking, too. He doesn't like the sound of bells ringing. He has learned how to pull himself to standing in the bathtub, so that means we have to watch him every second. Over the last month he's lost his affinity for food. He'll eat maybe 3 bites of bread and stop. He won't even touch baby food at ALL. The ONLY thing he'll take is bread products...cheerios, puffs, toast, roll. He's still into the bottle, and that's been his primary calorie source. I've thought that maybe it was because he's teething a lot of teeth, but there's no way to be sure I guess.

Q really liked the Christmas tree, he pulled down every ornament that wasn't placed high enough. He also started unwrapping a few boxes early! He's getting mobile enough that we finally had to put a gate up around the fireplace. I found him eating a wood pellet one day, ugh!
He didn't like Santa, however. After two months I finally got around to sanitizing the duplo blocks I bought at the consignment store for Q and he LOVES them. $10 well spent!
Ian's parents and two brothers came down to our place for Christmas and Q's birthday. It was really nice. We talked and played games all evening. Ian and I prepared a ham dinner. Q got to play with his extended family. What IS that weird thing? Hmm, maybe it's not too bad. Happy Birthday Cutie Patootie!
